WE ARE OPEN TO SEE PATIENTS!

It’s Monday, October 6th, 2014. We are opening our doors this morning. We have over 200 patients waiting to be seen for Hepatitis C and many other patients expressing interest in the “Better My Image” or BMI project. Thank you to all of you who have kept the faith and donated to us. Our challenge now it to find funding to pay for lab work for those who just can’t come up with the money. We have been able to negotiate a price of $90. 00 for a viral load,(the standard cost is $400.00), and everyone will need at least 4. We are working on possibly having a lab right here in the office as we grow. Again, Thank you so much for your generosity and support. Please help us any way you can, Even a dollar donation will help. Have a wonderful week. I will now start weekly updates, letting you know our progress. Almost there

Here is our latest progress update…..The A/C unit was stolen one month ago, in broad daylight. Which wasn’t our favorite thing that happened. To keep things consistent, two weekends ago we were broken into not once, but twice. In the same day! We pray that the one who broke in didn’t get hurt to bad falling onto concrete from the eight foot ceiling from which they came. Seeing the problems we were going to have, we now are the proud owners of a brand new security system. Complete with four shiny cameras to catch all those pesky little intruders. Yay us! On a brighter note, we have about half of the windows installed. It’s amazing how different the closed off upstairs looks with light coming in. Speaking of new things, we had our phone lines installed as well. Our new number is 727-228-1650. We also have a fax number 727-228-1690. Hepatitismain.com has a toll free number too 1-855-403-HEPC. So if you’re in the mood go get a tax right off, we can give you a tax receipt since we now have our 501 (c)3 non-profit status!!!!  Which by all accounts makes us official. A couple more weeks and we should be up and operational. We are looking forward to helping our community in any way we can. JoJo – VP […] readmore

A week of ups and downs

Hello, fellow Love the Golden Rule Supporters This week got us much closer to being ready to open. The windows are in the warehouse, and the contractor is doing his bet to have them in this week. The greatest news is that we are now a certified non-profit corporation. We received the letter on Friday.  Now, anyone who has been waiting to donate can now do so with a tax deduction,. The bad news is that we were broken into on Saturday morning. I did not know that anything had been taken until I went to repair the window.. My circular saw was gone. We then attended the Metropolitan Charities GALA, (which was an awesome event), and upon returning to secure the building, we had been robbed again. This time the thief took all of my tools. The Police Officer (Officer Reeves),was so kind and helpful. He stayed at the building while Jojo and I went to a 24 hour Walmart to get supplies, (a new drill and bolts) to secure the building. Thank you to the St Petersburg Police Department. This will not hold us back from our mission to provide services to those in need. Thank you for your patience. We have over 150 patients waiting on us to open. […] readmore

We’re Getting Close

Hello Family and Friends I am excited about some of the encounters I have had in the last few weeks. First, there was contact with the IRS (a human contact) with good news and we are hopeful that our 501 (c)3 status will arrive soon. Second, Katherine Snow Smith wrote a wonderful article for us that appeared in the Tampa Bay Times on July 11th, 2014. The response has been amazing and we are clearly gaining recognition for the project. Third, I have been in touch with the City of St Pete and am hopeful that our meeting on August 7th will help us reach the point of approval to allow us to open the doors of the new center at 721 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. S. Fourth, Gordon and Elizabeth from Hepatitismain.com are already initiating contacts with clients, letting them know of our plans to open soon. Stay tuned, and please notice the DONATE button on our home page. Anything you can give will help us get closer to opening our doors to offer free treatment to those in our area who are living with Hepatitis C and those with Obesity. We’re getting there :)

Hello all. Here is an update of where we are. We currently have the entrance, hallways, two bathrooms, and two offices painted. All of the ceiling panels are done and looking spiffy. One of the “show rooms” (patient rooms) is about 95% complete. Walls painted, bamboo floor installed, new ceiling panels in place, and everything scrubbed down. Pretty much, the only thing that is needed, is to have the baseboards put on. Things are progressing at a good rate, which is very pleasing. We are trying to be open sometime in August, but we still have work to do if we are to open by then. The rest of the rooms need to be painted, floors installed, baseboards put on, items taken out, items brought in, all that fun stuff. Stay tuned for pictures to be posted of the building today. New things on the horizon

We are currently under contract on a home for Love The Golden Rule. We are very excited about our first big step, and are looking forward to the new opportunities that will arise. Our new center is in need of a lot of work, and some TLC. We will be in need of donations to help us get the center up and running, so we can starting helping those in need. Anything that you are able to donate, will greatly help our efforts in the restoration process. Thank you in advance, and remember, Be Happy, Help Others. Facebook Twitter Google+ LinkedIn readmore
